If your student is just learning to read and finds the Readers in your Language Arts package to be too easy, please keep in mind that you are using these Readers to help your student learn to write well. Your copywork passages come from the books and teach beginning creative writing skills. Please feel free to visit your local library to provide your student with additional reading material until their creative writing skills "catch up" to their reading skills.
If your student is using one of the upper level programs and finds the literature to be "too easy," please keep in mind that at these levels it is the content of the literature that is more important than the challenge of the style. Your students "read to learn" with the literature in these programs. The content is compelling and engaging and helps to reinforce the material you are studying. So even if your student finds the books easy to read, help them to understand that it is the content that is in the books that is most important.
